2004 - 2008 Ford F150 - Radio and instrument panel losing power intermittently. - I have a 2008 F150 5.4. This winter I replaced my alternator. I think it was a defective alternator, or had a bad voltage regulator, because the voltage gauge on the dash was surging, so I replaced the alternator.

Kevin#95. Try unplugging the throttle position sensor connector near the throttle body and spray contact cleaner or wd40 onto both parts of the connector. A dirty contact can cause this type of problem. The connector can get dirty because it is near the engine. Do not spray wd40 into the throttle body itself.
